Tory MP targeted by Christian campaign for voting for gay marriage wins re-election...

Conservative Simon Kirby has retained his Brighton Kemptown seat, despite a campaign to oust him because of his strong support for same-sex marriage.

Earlier this year, the Coalition for Marriage claimed to have 1,500 supporters in Kemptown, Brighton who would vote for candidates other than Simon Kirby, and said that voters should vote for “anyone other than” him because he supports same-sex marriage.
