As public pressure mounts on Prime Minister Tony Abbott to grant his ministers a free vote, the latest Australian Marriage Equality figures show the parliament’s lower house is just four votes shy of a majority, while Senate numbers reveal a one-vote majority.
National director Rodney Croome told News Corp that he was “hopeful” that marriage equality would become a reality before the end of next year.
