WARNING TO RELIGIOUS FREEDOM FIGHTERS: DON'T MESS WITH TEXAS

An influential business group, activists and some Democratic lawmakers on Tuesday warned that some bills in the Texas Legislature would discriminate against gays, possibly sparking a backlash like the one in Indiana.

In a press conference, the speakers said the pending bills — including two calling for constitutional amendments — would drive business from the state.

"We must learn from Indiana's experience," said Chuck Smith, executive director of Equality Texas.
