The briefs range from the wacky to the mainstream, from the profound to the ridiculous.

They have been filed by some of the nation's most unique interest groups — from "same-sex attracted men and their wives," which is against gay marriage, to "survivors of sex change therapy," which is for it.

Some are intensely personal, like one in which Goshen teen Kinsey Morrison salutes her two lesbian mothers, or another in which Denise Shick says her abusive transgender father beat and molested her.
