The International Olympic Committee has asked the Russian government to clarify the newly enacted anti-gay propaganda law after receiving written confirmation by government officials that the winter games will not be affected by the law. However, the IOC president stated that there are areas of the law that still need to be clarified in order to feel confident about the assurances given by the Russian government.
