A gay couple was able to get married in the Mexican state of Yucatan, which is known for its beaches and ancient Mayan cities, after a judge ruled in their favor using the country's recent Supreme Court ruling declaring such bans unconstitutional. Since the Mexican judicial system is complex several more cases need to be presented before the court in order to force all the states to comply, a process which could take more time to achieve.
