Research Medical Center is facing backlash after they forecfully removed a gay patient's same-sex spouse from his bedside and had him arrested even though the spouse had legal power of attorney and was furious that the patient's anti-gay brother was telling him to leave.
The hospital has refuted claims of anti-gay discrimination citing that they have a policy in place against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. But upon checking the hospital's non-discrimination policy available on their website there is no mention of protection afforded to patients and families who are LGBT.
