Mariela Castro, who heads the National Center for Sex Education (CENESEX), said his father "has appeared on several occasions" and "has been talking about" at the Sixth Party Congress held in 2011 in the Parliament and the "small meetings".
"But he has not made it public, which is surely part of his tactics and strategies, it is his style," she said to questions from reporters on Saturday.
"I'm satisfied anyway and I will not push to do it publicly because I care more for working on specific words into actions," she added.
According Mariela Castro, the Cuban president has guided the party for years to revise the laws of the country "for any type of discrimination that remain were removed."
"He has done some lawyers talking about the need to make progress in rights based on sexual orientation and gender identity and to overcome all prejudices, and he has spoken to as socialism can not move forward if we continue to live with these prejudices," she said.
Mariela Castro also referred to the advice he gave his father in the process promoted CENESEX to present to Parliament a draft law amending the Family Code which includes aspects such as the legal union between homosexuals.
"He works to seek consensus, and always told me: never present early because after failing a legislative proposal is more difficult to do over," she admitted.
After years of waiting and amendments that eliminated proposals how to use the term "marriage" and include the possibility of adoption for homosexual couples, the bill has not yet been brought to the National Assembly and is expected to be discussed before the end of the current term in 2013.

However, she added that the issue of homophobia has been used in election campaigns in the world and in the case of Obama, recalled that he has said many "valuable" things that are not fulfilled, as his promise to close the prison in Guantanamo.
As part of the Day Against Homophobia, Mariela Castro led this Saturday May 12 the "conga against homophobia" by a central avenue of Havana, in which participants again claimed the right to a legal union between people same-sex and respect for diversity.
The traditional walk to Cuban conga, mobilized more than 300 people, including activists and the general public, carrying rainbow flags and chanted messages such as "down with homophobia" and "socialism is also diversity."
Many of the participants shouted "viva Mariela Castro," who has become the benchmark for much of the LGBT community in its campaign to raise awareness of respect for sexual diversity.
