Iowa Republicans are taking aim at the state's top law school for denying a faculty position to a conservative law professor, who an assistant dean once said embraces politics the rest of the faculty "despises."
Teresa Wagner, who works as an associate director of writing at the University of Iowa College of Law, is suing former dean Carolyn Jones for employment discrimination, claiming she was not hired for a professor position because Jones and other law faculty disapproved of her conservative views and activism.

Shots Fired at GA Waffle House Over a FACEBOOK Post
Shots were fired outside the Waffle House on Wrightsboro Road near Marks Church road just before 5 a.m. Deputies responded and found two groups of females involved.
One group was inside the restaurant when deputies say another group approached them and started a verbal altercation. The fight carried outside where a female fired four shots in the air with a handgun.
Investigators think the argument stemmed from a post on Facebook. They believe it might be related to a relationship status. It's not clear what relation the two groups have.
Massachusetts Man Accused of Killing, Eating Wife Says he did it in SELF DEFENSE
Seventy-nine-year-old Jieming Liu was arraigned Friday afternoon in Westboro District Court, a day after his wife, Yuee Zhou, 73, was found dead in their home.
Investigators said the couple’s son went to visit his parents at their condominium Thursday afternoon and found his mother on a bedroom floor, soaked in blood. Her left arm was severed below the elbow.
In court Friday, prosecutors said the flesh was missing from her left forearm and her husband had been eating it.
Her fingers were also detached from one hand. After Shrewsbury police questioned Liu, he was arrested and charged with murder.
Hugo Chavez Makes a Plea With God to Spare his Life
He says the latest surgery was successful, that he is recovering well and will be fit to win a new six-year term at an election in October. Yet big questions remain about his future, and on Thursday the strain appeared to show.
In a televised speech to the Catholic service in his home state of Barinas, Chavez cried and his voice broke as he eulogised Jesus, revolutionary fighter Ernesto "Che" Guevara and South American independence hero Simon Bolivar.
"Never forget that we are the children of giants ... I could not avoid some tears," the former soldier said, his parents and other relatives looking on from the church rows.
"Give me your crown, Jesus. Give me your cross, your thorns so that I may bleed. But give me life, because I have more to do for this country and these people. Do not take me yet," Chavez added, standing below an image of Jesus with the Crucifix.
Current TV files countersuit against Olbermann
Current and Olbermann, who hosted his program "Countdown" on the network, have been locked in a war of words and legal filings since last week, when Current fired the commentator claiming he had breached his contract.
The liberal firebrand sued the network on Thursday seeking as much as $70 million he says he is owed for compensation and an equity stake he was given in the fledgling network.
Boy Sells Kidney to buy IPAD
The 17-year-old boy, identified only by his surname Wang, was approached in an online chatroom and paid 22,000 yuan (£2,200) for his kidney to be used in an illegal transplant operation, the Xinhua News Agency said.
The teen now suffers from renal deficiency and his health is deteriorating, according to prosecutors in Chenzhou city, Hunan province.
Five people from southern China have been charged with intentional injury and illegal organ trading, including the surgeon who removed the boy’s kidney in April 2011.
According to the Xinhua, one of the accused was paid 220,000 yuan (£22,000) to arrange the transplant. He paid the boy 22,000 yuan (£2,200) and shared the remaining profit with the surgeon, the three other defendants and other medical staff. The media reports gave no indication of who paid for and received the kidney.

‘Long Live Zimmerman’ Spray Painted On Ohio State’s Black Cultural Center
The graffiti painted early Thursday said “Long Live Zimmerman.” Columbus media outlets report that officials believe it’s a reference to George Zimmerman, the neighborhood-watch captain accused of killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla., in February.
Larry Williamson, executive director of The Frank W. Hale Black Cultural Center, wants the person that did this brought to justice.
“We want the person brought to trial, caught,” Williamson told WBNS-TV. “We want to make sure these kinds of things don’t happen.”
Winner of Mega Millions Lost Winning Ticket at McDonald's
The Mega Millions mystery deepened in Maryland on Thursday, as a woman who said she had the winning ticket now tells News4 that she seems to have misplaced it.
When News4's Shomari Stone asked Mirlande Wilson if she was going to claim her "winning" ticket, she replied, "If I find it... I misplaced it."
Wilson, a 37-year-old mother of seven, told News4's Shomari Stone that she hid the ticket in a Baltimore-area McDonald's where she works.
The state's lottery board said no one has stepped up to claim their share of the record-setting $656 million prize.
