***UPDATE*** (4/7/2012 2:45 PT) - It appears that more than 6,000 ballots are 'questioned ballots' who many think are purely NO ballots as a NO activist told thousands of people that they can register the day of the election which is not true. These ballots will be not be counted if the voter is not registered therefore cutting away NO votes and changing the final results. Also the ACLU of Alaska has joined in to make sure there is no bias in counting these votes. The story is still developing, please check back later.

PROP 5 - A city ordinance that if passed will ban anti-LGBT discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations. The measure has passed the city legislature only to be vetoed by the mayor. Tonight voters would have a chance to enact and expand Anchorage, Alaska's civil rights laws.

Don't call it for the "NO" side yet!!!
ReplyDeleteToday (3 April) the "NO" side posted on their Facebook page that folks can register to vote AND vote at the same time, and that's not true in Alaska. There were a number of people who did so, and there are potentially thousands of "NO" votes that are not legitimate.
We're not down yet!!!

53% precincts reporting
45% YES
54% NO
The absentee and question ballots won't even be finished being counted until 13 April, and a number of the polling locations RAN OUT of BALLOTS and had to use them!
