A gay man aged 37 by the name of Cesar Gonzalez Martinez was found dead in his home after an apparent robbery and homophobic attack in Puebla, Mexico.
Family members have not been hearing from Martinez for many days prompting them to visit his home where through a window they were able to spot his feet and after repeated knocks were not being answered the authorities were called.
Martinez was found wrapped in a blanket with his face duck-taped and his mouth filled with paper napkins. Authorities say that Martinez was strangled to death. The murderers stole a laptop among other valuables as well as his Ford pick-up truck. Martinez had been dead for six days, according to the coroners.
Neighbors witnessed a group of men hanging out with Martinez on the last day he was seen alive who authorities think may be connected to the murder.
Puebla is still mourning the loss and murder of an LGBT activist found dead a few days earlier in the nearby hills. Groups are demanding justice as they marched to the town hall in a vigil to honor those who have fallen to homophobic hate crimes.
