Sure, democrats in certain areas are pro-gay. But just because some democrats are pro-gay it does not mean that their ideology, let alone their party, is entirely "pro-gay." The party has never officially endorsed gay marriage in its platform. What democrats and republicans do for the most part is say things that voters want to hear so they can get elected. Pelosi is no different, she is bashing the other side for being anti-gay in effect to woo gay voters, but yet what has her party ever done for us? The Pelosi party has failed to pass gay marriage in the state of California once they were in power, in fact our chief Editor who used to live in the golden state got a mailer from an Orange County democrat named Lou Correa saying he needed help to stop gay marriage and "homosexual militants" from imposing such "aberration." (real lines)
Some of you might say that Obama has already declared DOMA unconstitutional and is not defending it in court. REALITY CHECK: Obama is still ENFORCING the law. Obama has over-ruled congress many times already and has through executive order declined to enforce laws he thought were unconstitutional. But he continues to ENFORCE a law that his own party along with the Republicans voted for and supported.
And lets not forget that Obama is still "evolving" on gay marriage, meaning that he is going to be for it when its politically expedient for him, as Bishop Gene Robinson noted. However, his stance against gay marriage is sill official as stated by Joe Biden. So that means, or at least it should mean, that Obama is a H8ter and a bigot for being opposed to gay marriage.
And now we have something new to add to the list: Senate President of Maryland who just the other day had to audacity to say that gay marriage is an "attack" on the family. Democrats in that state who hold an overwhelming majority in both house and senate have failed to pass gay marriage. The state is mostly Democratic and yet many gay rights activists have rightfully noted that even IF the democratic legislature were to pass gay marriage, the overwhelming democratic voting public will indeed veto it in referendum as they team up with anti-gay hate groups like The Family Research Council.
For every bad apple we can expose in the Republican side, there is an equal if not worse bad apple in the Democrat side. That is why voter registration forms have "declined to state" option.
