There have been rumors circulating around that The Gay Report has endorsed Ron Paul for President. The Gay Report has not endorsed anybody for office. Our policy since we started has been that we will not be endorsing any candidate for 2012 for any office.
However, since we have a new editorial team some of our editors including our Chief Editor, have or will express favoritism for or outright endorse some candidates for office. Please understand that these expressions and endorsements are personal and do not represent the opinion of the entire staff or The Gay Report. Our editors will be free to post on The Gay Report opinions on some candidates, both negative and positive.
The reason for this policy is that our editorial staff has been comprised of diverse talents and opinions and since we are a new site, we have had no time whatsoever to discuss as a group who to endorse officially as a group and as The Gay Report. Maybe in the next election cycle we will review this policy again and maybe officially endorse candidates then. As for now there will be no official endorsement for President, just diverse opinions from our editors.
Thank you for your concerns, and we hope this will clarify our stance. We want this site to be mainly about you and our community, not about us.
